As we enter the new year, the club is pleased to announce that we are inviting applications for the 2022 Hargreaves Performance Awards that the Club President has once again generously agreed to support.
Due to the large number of applicants last year, it has been decided by the club committee that the eligibility criteria will be enforced more strictly this year. The minimum standard required for those applying is a top ten ranking in the in the Midland or South West region. For Track and Field, Road Racing events, as well as Road Relay Championships, this relates specifically to individual times, distances or heights achieved.
As for Cross-Country, a top ten position in either the Midland or South West championship races, or performances of a comparable standard at National level, including the English championships and UK Cross Challenge races, will meet the standard set.
There is no age limit to applicants, though Masters athletes would need to be ranked in the top three in their events to be considered.
Note: athletes not meeting the minimum standard will be considered in certain circumstances, such as chronic illness, injury etc, but such applications would need the strong support of their coaches.
Applications
Club athletes who wish to apply for either a Scholarship Grant or a Performance Award must complete the appropriate form and submit their application to Mike Down, Club Vice-Chairman by e-mail by the closing date of Tuesday 25th January 2022.
