Dear Club Members,
You may have noticed that in recent months the throws cage at Whitehall track has been closed. This is due to the fact that it is not in a fit and safe state for use.
On the 29th of June, the cage area was inspected by the accredited organisation 'Sport and Play,' as mandated by CLF, the landlord of the site.
Regrettably, there were several issues identified during the inspection:
Holes have been found in the net and door nets, rendering them unsafe for use.
There are ten patches measuring 1m x 1m that require attention.
The door nets need to be replaced.
The winches are malfunctioning and are only working intermittently.
To address these issues, vice chair Paul Owen will be contacting our landlords to obtain a comprehensive breakdown of the necessary remedial work.
Our goal is to work with our landlords and acquire quotes for the repairs as soon as possible, ensuring that the work is completed urgently.
Rest assured, our primary focus is to restore the throws area and resume its use, as we all recognise that it has been overdue for a while now.
Thank you for your cooperation.
