Format/Rules:
Points are awarded according to the athlete’s finishing position in relation to other B&W athletes within their age group.
50 points will be awarded for 1st place, 49 points for 2nd place, 48 points for 3rd place, etc.
Each athlete’s 4 best scores will count towards the Championship.
The Championship will be divided into U11, U13 and U15 age groups for both boys and girls.
Age groups will be in line with the Cross Country/Road running age groups for this season. Therefore, U11s will be in Years 5 and 6, U13s will be in Years 7 and 8 and U15s will be in Years 9 and 10. The two track time trials will also be run according to these age groups.
If a race is cancelled, an alternative event will be identified, and athletes will be notified of the change asap.
In the case of a tie, final Junior Championship positions will be decided on the basis of those events in which tied runners both competed. If there is still a tie, athlete’s positions overall in each race will be considered.
Only races completed as a paid-up member of the club will be eligible.
Awards:
Awards and prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed girl and boy in each of the following age categories: U11, U13, U15.
A ‘Club Honours’ award will also be given to all athletes that have competed in at least 4 out of the 5 designated events.
