National Road Relays: Under 13 and 15 Girls

Paul Owen reports on how the Under 13 and Under 15 Girls got on at National Road Relays

U13 Girls

It was great to have two teams again following on from the Midlands a couple of weeks ago. For the A team, Gabi Rittersherratt (15:47) ran a good first leg in a very competitive field handing over in 15th to Phoebe Sanigar. Phoebe ran 16:30 to beat her previous time by 29 seconds to hold on to 15th for an impressive leg. Phoebe handed over to Holly Massey Jones (16:10) for the anchor leg, who beat her previous run by 18 seconds to gain one place for an impressive 14th overall. In the B Team, Amira Chowdhurybarra (16:48) running her first race did superbly, coming home in 30th. Amira handed over to Mairi Carverbrown (16:57), who beat her previous best by 31 seconds and ran very well to gain a place in 29th. Millie Pope (17:03) also beat her previous best by 26 seconds to gain a further place and bring the young B team home in a promising 28th position.

U15 Girls

Just like Midlands, we had one team again and another first-time runner.

Eliza Bott (16:35) running the lead leg did well to beat her previous by 18 seconds and hand over in 54th position. Amelie Swaffer (16:56) in her first race ran a solid leg and gained 4 places to hand over to Holly Sanigar in 50th. Holly ran 15:01 to shave 4 seconds off her previous best, and now dangerously close to a sub-15 clocking, gained 15 places to bring us home in 35th. Again it was great day out and the girls were all a credit to the club. Thanks to all who chipped in with helping on the day. Stopping at Strensham Services once again also proved a hit along with some more new hoodies!
