Our junior Girls don't let flooding dampen their spirits

In the junior girls' endurance squad, we were frustrated when we heard the news that the National X - Country championships had been cancelled.

Primarily, our upset was for the 18 girls who had entered the race.

However, a bit of flooding couldn't dampen our spirits; the decision was made unanimously to keep our hotel and transport, and travel north for something of a training camp.

Great fun was had by all, with a brilliant hills/endurance session at the National Sports' Centre in Lilleshaw (rubbing shoulders with some potential Paris Olympic athletes), a fantastic breakfast, great networking and some of our party even squeezed in a Park Run in sunny Shrewsbury!

Special thanks go to Matt Brown for organising the trip, Coach Paul Owen for arranging the training session with the support of Assistant Coaches Dan Lambourne and Rob Pope (who also drove the minibus!) and the support team of Tanya Chowdhury, and Nowshaba and Richard Lawson.

It's great to see our juniors loving their running and making the most of the opportunities with Bristol & West
