Report and Results from the Jumps and Throws Competition Whitehall Athletics Arena on Saturday 30th

Planning for the licenced event started on 12 th September with the idea

shared with the field event coaches. It is hoped that all athletes who have

competed for the club in the events offered this year were contacted. My

apologies if anyone was missed who had competed for the Senior club

teams.

The athletes who took part will have appreciated that the event was

supported by a very good set of efficient field judges assisted by coaches and parents.

I have introduced a number of young athletes to a variety of events and this

was their first ever competition. Obviously they set their own bench mark.

Tiwa and Sam remain under 11s for another year. Tiwa has been the male star

of the Quadkids athletes at the Avon league fixtures this year. Charlotte

(Lottie) has made a good start and now has to move on to the 400gm javelin.

Sam is making progress. Taking part was a good experience for all three.

Oskar Lovell had a super day with three PBs. Javelin 23.27m is a substantial

improvement but not a surprise to me. PBs in long jump and shot confirming

his all round progress. For javelin he is probably ranked 3 rd U12 in the South

West.

Alana Cooper also U12 improved her javelin PB and there is more to come

from her.

Esme Mckenzie, Joshua Toms and Daniel Webb all set new PBs in the long

jump. Florence Thomas similarly but in the triple jump and Max Jackson in

the javelin.

Dean Garret was the only other shot putter to improve a PB.

Friends taking part also made improvements to their PBs Corey Summers,

Team Bath javelin 51.49m, Navya Wilkins, Yate & District SP 6.66m and

William Willetts, Team Bath triple jump 12.62m. Navya equalled her high jump

PB.

Cadel Anaya is listed as a non competing member and looks like he will be

needed for the U13 team next year.

I have thanked the officials as well as those who helped in any way to make

the event run smoothly providing a good morning of activity. I’m sure those

who competed benefitted from having a last chance to climb the rankings.

So in addition to those named above there were many other good

performances which have been submitted to Powerof10.
